Details from Sam Saxby at the Better Business Environment Forum:

"Would you like to reduce the costs of energy to your business?
Are your supply chains or clients pressurising you to reduce carbon emissions?
If so, read on...

Bradford District Environment Partnership is serious about tackling climate change and keen to encourage all businesses in the district to take whatever action they can to reduce CO2 emissions and share good practice.

The Partnership has just launched a project which offers small and medium sized businesses a free energy audit and advice on actions to reduce energy use.  The project aims to help business save money on their energy bills and reduce their carbon dioxide emissions.

To qualify for the free service businesses need to meet the following criteria:

 - Based within the Bradford District
 - Spend less than £50,000 per year on their energy bills*
 - Sign up to the Bradford District Climate Change Pledge

If you are interested in receiving the energy audit, the first thing you need to do is to sign up to the Bradford District Climate Change Pledge. Completing the pledge is easy.

You just need to fill in the pledge form online with some basic information about your business and give brief details of what you plan to do on climate change, such as raising awareness with employees or agreeing to the free energy audit.

Once you make a pledge, an environmental consultant from ECUS Ltd or Bradford Environmental Action Trust will contact you to discuss the service in further detail and to arrange a visit.  The consultants are qualified to deliver energy audits and will have ID to verify their identity.

To sign up and for more information go to the pledge website.

If you have any queries about the pledge or would like to know more about what the Environment Partnership is doing, contact Lucy Ashall at Bradford Council on 01274 434933 / lucy.ashall@bradford.gov.uk

*If your energy spend is higher than this, you should qualify for a Carbon Trust Survey
